Are you using the Trimesh Point to generate terrain?

Download the free D'oh Book for SketchUp πŸ“–

What would your workflow be to have some Sjetchup model exported to use in Inventor? Preferably a solid model on which I can measure on all faces and points.

Isn't Inventor geared towards mechanical design?

Civil 3D would be your best option in this case. But there's the gap in info as to what it is your are trying to do.

I can only offer suggestions based on what you post.

Indeed inventor is more towards mechanical, but we use it to model our waste water plants. From time to time we need correct site layout elevations, and would sketchup come in handy.

This is what I have in Sketchup, but not 100% usable in Inventor

What's not working out? File export issues?

When I export to STL (which is my only option to Inventor I think) I cannot measure between points in my Inventor model against faces of the STL. Only the outer points of the STL are "grippable" to connect to.

So there's no real issue with Toposhaper? Your issues with Inventor I can't help with I'm araid.
