Hi, I have a situation where I am copying some entities from one Tag to a new Tag. The entities have colored faces in the first tag, when I copy them into the second tag they retain their colored faces only while the first tag is still visible. When I switch off the first tag the elements in the second tag have outlines only. The faces return to the second tag entities when I turn the first tag back on.

I've tried converting the entities to a component and the same thing happens.

Any clues as to what I have done to cause this or a work around?

      Many thanks

      Dean

its likely you have tagged the raw geometry, but loading the file will help to resolve

Your wording suggests you may have a misunderstanding of SketchUp tags. You can't copy anything from one tag to another because tags don't contain or "own" anything. They are like markings applied to an entity. The simplest way to do what you describe is probably to copy the object using either copy/paste or the move tool, and then assign the desired new tag using the entity info window.

It also sounds like you've assigned tags to geometry (edges and faces) which is not good practice. Only objects (components, groups, labels, and dimensions) should get tags. Edges and faces should be created AND remain untagged.
