Sketchup 2021 on Mac os12 Monterey betas
-
How have people been getting on with running their sketchup 2021 (or previous versions) on the Mac OS 12 Monterey public betas?
I’d like to purchase one of the new m1x/m2 MacBook Pro’s when they come out and Apple won’t say yet if they’ll be backwards compatible with Big Sur and I’m not going on to the sketchup subscription model so sketchup pro 2021 will be my last version. I’m pretty sure sketchup 2021 wont official support Monterey but it would be good to know unofficially
Thanks

I just installed Monterey and SketchUp no longer works. It just shows the "SketchUp quit unexpectedly" sign, no option to actually run the app. Just the buttons "Reopen" (which gets you cycling), "Report.." and holly "Ignore".
How do you know SketchUp will no longer be supported on Macs? It is one month since i bought my Mac M1 and SketchUp is important for my and my job daily. -
Over on the public SketchUp forum, various people have reported success running SketchUp 2021 on M1 Macs (using Rosetta 2), which I presume means Monterey since I don't think the M1 is supported on Big Sur? That suggests there is something specific on your setup that isn't yet compatible.

Your profile says you are using SketchUp 2017 Make. You can count on that version not officially supporting newer Mac OS versions.
FWIW, since you are using SketchUp for your work you should not be using SketchUp Make, anyway. That's a violation of the EULA. You need to be using SketchUp Pro. As slbaumgartner wrote, many users have reported the current version of SketchUp Pro works. I would expect the next release will officially support Monterey.
