Any way to repair a texture like this?

I was playing around with the Shape Bender tool
https://blog.sketchup.com/article/bend-it-fullmer-all-about-shape-benderAnd you can see that the texture got kind of broken up.
Is there a way to re-map the texture from the original object onto the resulting one?

texture repair question -
If the tool doesn't have a preserve UVs function then your out of luck.
Vertex Tools 2 would allow you to bend via its Falloff Selection and preserve the UVs
