      Hi all,

I have done the next things:

      • I made my dynamic component
      • I saved it in the components folder of Sketchup
      • I opened a new model and inserted the newly made component using the components window.

Now the component does not have it attibutes anymore, although inside the component I just inserted, there is another component that has the attributes I made...

How can I save my components in order that when I drag and drop this component into the model , it does not appear inside a `dummy' component? (When I open it using the file-open menu, I dont have a problem).

      Thanks,

      Nask

The proper way to save dynamic components is to export it by right-clicking on the component and select "Save As..". That keeps the component to be saved inside an "envelope" file.

Good day! Is there a way to save Dynamic Groups like we do for DCs?

Explain what you mean by "Dynamic Groups".

Groups, by nature, is just an organising container in SketchUp, they're quite different from components. The current implementation does not allow groups to be used in the same manner components are. Unless I complete missed something along the line or am not understanding SketchUp correctly.

Hi Juju! You're right, "dynamic groups" is a fantasy noun I gave to Groups which are aditable just like DCs. For some reasons I cannot explain to you for shortness, I'm in the situation I'd like to save a group with dynamic properties with the "Save As..." feature we have for DCs, but obviously the context menu entry doesn't appear for groups...

Is there an alternative way to make it happen?

wrap the group in a component then saveas, then explode on inserting
