Extension tools not showing up, Help!
-
I'm using, SU 2018 Pro. I have several extensions enabled who toolbars are not showing up. Soap Skin & Bubble was one, so I reinstalled through the extension warehouse. I verified that it is enabled and under View>Toolbars I see it there and it is checked, but nothing shows up on the interface. The same is true for Smustard, Selection Toys & Sandbox toolbar (though I can navigate the latter tow through the menus).
I read another forum that suggested the issue is with being logged in as an ADMIN in windows. Seems like a crazy workaround to create a non-admin to reload and run sketchup. Any other ideas?
Thanks!

NOTE:
It is NOT being logged in as admin - in fact that'll cause unpredictable issues of its own !This is the only correct way to Repair [or Install] any complex app like SketchUp.
Login to your usual Windows user-account - if that account has some admin-powers then that's OK, but do NOT log in as the special [and separate] system-administrator account.
Ensure that SketchUp is closed.
Find the SketchUp installer's exe file - it is usually in your Downloads folder...
Select the installer's exe file's icon, right-click > context-menu > "Run as administrator"
When prompted choose "Repair" [for a new installation you need to choose "Install"]
When it completes, restart SketchUp and see if things improve...
Running any installer's exe in another way will cause permission issue - often involving not remembered toolbars or preferences etc...
So never double-click the exe file to "Run" it - even if you DO have some admin-powers it does NOT give the same outcome... -
Check to see if the dropdown menu is hiding out on a DIFFERENT screen:
I had the same problem (with Fredo6 animator). I tried everything, even completely uninstalling Sketchup and reinstalling it, but I still couldn't see the dropdown menu for Animator, even though in the View>Toolbars menu it appeared there, and the checkbox was checked. Finally I saw that it was on one of my OTHER screens, not the screen that Sketchup was on (the dropdown was pretty tiny, and I have three different screens). All I had to do was drag the menu over to the screen with Sketchup on it.
