I use Raylectron. I started with version 2 which I abandoned because it was so bad, but then took up the Raylectron, Punch (V.4.95) which I find really good. I am waiting for V.5 which I think will be amazing.
The difference with the 2 renders is the renderer has some basic ajustment within it (Gamma, contrast intensity, exposue, brighness, saturation etc). I must admit though that I can play around with the general ajustments, lighting sun, shiny etc for a LONG time to get it right and that takes patients. The Sky is just a background. Have posted another image with the same or similar settings below

Very nice for straight out of your render engine.
Also curious about what renderer you use. Definitely understand having reluctance with jumping into the post processing pool. That said you might want to look at Affinity Photo. Very reasonable price but a lot more functionality for tone and color adjustments than Gimp. -
These look great Liam! I would vote for the 1st image personally because I think the sky wants to be somewhat overexposed for realism towards actual photography. The 2nd would help if the interior spaces were lit up a tad bit more.

Thank you, I will take that on board and have a new go at it when my energy recovers. Looking back on it and what you said about the sky makes sense to me thanks for the comment, very helpfull

I also use Raylectron. It takes a while to get used to the settings, but once you learn it, it does some amazing things.

Thanks Bryan! and agreed I find Raylectron is a bit like sketchup in that it is more powerfull than seems at first. I bet you are hanging out for V5 as well. I believe they have started from scratch on a completely new platform. It is a long time comming though but thats OK I think they learnt a lesson from releasing the earlier versions (V2 and V3) permaturely. But V4.95 rocks!

Both images make me want to live in the house, but the second one seems more natural, late afternoon, early evening during the summer or maybe early September. Brilliant work though.

Thank you, I find it difficult to choose at the end, "forrest for the trees" syndrome. will try to use Criterion Architecture's suggestion about a more over exposed sky when I get a chance to see what that does for it
