Skimp looks awesome but so does Transmutr. Really looking forward to see how they both turn out.

I hope Skimp proxies can work with Thea, please?!

On one project Skimp imports saved me at least 4 hours, I needed to import DAZ characters in different poses for obstacles, normally this is a crap job of decimating mesh in DAZ, hoping geometry stays intact, clothing not intersect bodies etc, now I export full geometry to .obj, import with Skimp, reducing it 90% in a fraction of the time I normally used to do it. That was just one small project, cannot imagine the time saving in one year, well worth the price.

                    Thanks solo!

There are some key differences between Skimp and Transmutr, most notably:

                    • Ability to select and simplify any object already in your SketchUp model
                    • Windows and Mac Compatible
                    • Skimp has accurate simplification tolerance setting which is very important for CAD / CAM and 3D Printing
                    • Skimp can import more file formats

We will keep adding more features too...this is just the beginning ๐Ÿ˜„

Isn't C4D Polygon Reduction good enough comparing to Skimp? I'm asking myself (since I've got ProOptimizer modifier inside 3ds Max) what extra value will I gain with Skimp?

C4D? I was exporting from DAZ not C4D. Skimp is a lot faster than DAZ's poly reducer, in fact Skimp just as an importer is even faster than Simlab.

I am in the progress, Not fluent enough to give SU up completely yet and many existing clients are using SU so there is no running away. Currently C4D is adding value by giving new options, but has not replaced SU, and probably will not for a while.

This extension looks amazing, but the cost/subscription model puts it out of consideration for me (given that I would only use it on occasion). I can see where it would have huge value for an office where it's needed in support of an existing workflow across platforms.

I would consider it at half the cost for a permanent license.

They have offered a launch sale, 99 $.
Perhaps, I hope, they are aware of an exaggerated price and above all a subscription plan

It is an insane price, letโ€™s be honest, how often would you or I use this, yes I would use it but not everyday, I usually make a few LODs of the same mesh for optimising objects with less geometry depending on distance from the camera in unity, but in saying that there is a unity plugin that does the same for as little as โ‚ฌ45, I can then reimport the mesh back into sketchup, ok the workflow maybe not as perfect as Skimp however itโ€™s the same result with out burning a hole in my pocket, Iโ€™m very disappointed in Mind.Sight.Studios, I have purchased some great products from them in the past that were not subscription based and were reasonably priced, there are alternatives to Skimp that do the same thing, I canโ€™t see how they can justify the price let alone the yearly subscription, thatโ€™s just my opinion.

I just wanted to provide an update on our pricing. Based on the feedback we have received, we have adjusted our pricing to make it much more affordable. I hope you will give Skimp another look.
