How to give Patterns colour?
-
Hi all,
How do you make the pattern lines coloured? It seems to be only able to be black. One would think that it would be possible, but I cant work it out. When I select "Pattern" and give it a colour, it fills in the background, with "Fill" switching on. I dont want the area coloured red, I just want the pattern lines red.
How do you do this? Thanks.

The fill patterns in LO are PNG image files and as such are not affected by Shape Style or Color settings in LayOut. You can open the fill image in your favorite image editor and change the color. If I wanted a different color, I would save the changed image file with a new name so as not to replace the original black one. Then open LayOut and you should find the edited fill. Probably best to make a custom Patterns folder and save it there in case you ever need to reinstall SketchUp/LayOut and to make it easier to migrate to the next version of LO. Add your own custom collection of fill patterns with as many fills as you like.
