Vray renders everything pitch black
-
Hello.
I have had some troubles to render one of my models with vray. For some reason vray turns absolutely everything black. I first thought it could be related to the materials I downloaded from Poliigon.com (the reason I tried to render was to take a look at how they turned out) but I have tried to replace those materials with both ordinary vray and sketchup materials, yet it still come out equally black. I've also tried to reinstall it in case there was something that had gone wrong with the program, but that did not solve it either. The weird thing is it works fine with my other models so I guess there must be something wrong with this model specifically or with options I use.
This is how the rendering ended up as. It looked all black in vray, but the "sky" went away when I saved it as a PNG file.

Does anyone know what the case could be?

Did you try resetting to default render settings? In the asset editor in the settings tab, there's a button on the bottom left-hand that allows you to "Revert to default render settings"

I recommend to look at it in Monochrome (View/Face Style/Monochrome) it should all be white. If you see blue/grey faces, then they are reversed, and many renderers won't see them.

I realize this is an old post, but thought I'd chime in in case someone else finds this thread. It looks to me like you are rendering the alpha channel. That would explain the sky going away too.
