Best free video editor ?
-
I'm looking for the best free video editor for my son to learn and make some youtube gaming videos with.
- must have export to youtube or mp4 (720 or higher)
- easy to use for a ten year old
- must have many transitions and cool effects. (the more the better)
- must have some way of adding a music track
- windows 10
We have tried Lightscape but the free version lacked many things and the UI was very weird.
We also downloaded Filmora but though it looked nice the clips were really laggy when played.Any thoughts?

Microsoft Expression for capturing/editing in 10min chunks. Or OBS for capture/streaming as that plays nice with Youtube for live streams.
For editing I would say Shotcut also. Easy peasy to use.
Or maybe Santa might get him an After Effects license?

Blender has a video editor. I use it whenever I need to edit videos, add overlays etc. Outputs to many formats.
I expect it to have all kinds of cool-effects if combined with the 3d capabilities of Blender 3d mode. Probably have to look for video tutorials to get to the ease-to-use factor...Edit: for seasoned cad/3d people - Blender's UI might be too different. Children do learn fast though. Why not look for a nice video tutorial and see if he likes it and wants to try?

Thanks. Iβll look into that.

Hello Pixero
yes, you asking for a free video editor, but I would like to suggest this editor anyway
Movavi Video Suite 11(basic version - not DeLuxe)
Since I have bought it in an older version (11) I have paid less than 20β¬ for it.
MVS has a lot of additional tools like file converting, publishing and a really very good screen capturing feature with useful presets for example for PC tutorials or even gaming or movies!!! - details like highlighted cursor etc are on board. Everything is very simple and self-explanatory, at least for dummies like me & after all, your above mentioned requirement profile is covered
