Select tool delay (urgent help, please!)
-
This morning the Select tool is operating on a 5 second time delay. I have run some up-dates on the extension manager but nothing else. Once objects are selected, everything runs normally.
Can anyone help, please!

What graphics card in your computer? Do you have an Nvidia card? One very common occurrence is that an automatic Windows update has reset the feeble Intel HD graphics card as the default away from the more capable Nvidia card that had been the default for SketchUp. Resetting the Nvidia card as the default would take care of the slow down.
If you only have an Intel graphics adapter, an automatic driver update pushed windows update could also create problems. You might need to roll the graphics drivers back to an earlier version. That seems to solve the issue for others.

Many thanks Dave! It makes sense now...I updated Windows 10 late last week. Normally always go for nVidia but omitted to on this PC! (oversight) Rectifying now! Augh!

Thank you. I haven't updated to SU2018 yet but will look at this again when I do. In the mean time, my partner/tech support has re-set a previous driver until I can install an NVidia card. Thanks everyone.

with SketchUp Pro 2018 a workaround for testing purposes is available.
In connection with a SketchUp Pro 2018 default program installation issue the following command at the Windows 10 command line ("Windows Search: CMD"):
"C;\Program Files\SketchUp\SketchUp 2018\jsonpatcheditor.exe" Preferences WorkaroundDrawXorRectUseGLFlushNotFlushDraw b true
If installed to a different program directory adjust the path accordingly.
Close SU before patching resp. restart for taking the setting into effect.
For removing the setting use:
"C;\Program Files\SketchUp\SketchUp 2018\jsonpatcheditor.exe" Preferences WorkaroundDrawXorRectUseGLFlushNotFlushDraw r
