[Plugin] Ellipse script
-
Right on, thanks Didier, can't wait to try it out!
-
Thank you very much, Didier
-
Just d/l the script and will try it out. Thank you so much for this, Didier. This will prove to be an extremely useful tool.
Edit- I think "major" and "minor" axes should be switched?
Edit Again - I would do it myself, but the code seems to be scrambled when I open it in Notepad. -
Hi bellwells,
Major and minor axis are "switchable", yes. In my example, the major axis is smaller than the minor
But it doesn't matter. I could call them "first" and "second" as well -
Very nice, thanks.

anyone know of a script that would equally divide an ellipse about the circumference a specified number of segments? Or an easy way to acomplish it?
-
I just found this utility and it works fine on a predefined plane, but it would be nice if I could just plug in some values and have the ellipse drawn for me.

Hi. I just managed to install this on Maker 2016 under Windows 10, 32-bit. I mean I can see it listed and checked among the Extensions under Preferences. But I do NOT see it anywhere else - especially under the Draw menu. I must be missing something. Thanks for any tips.

This is an ancient plugin and it appears it hasn't been updated to work in newer versions of SketchUp. There's the Ellipse plugin by Regular Polygon that does work, though.
You don't really need a plugin to draw an ellipse, anyway.

Plugin doesn't work in SU 2021 or 2022. Kept trying to create an ellipse in both and I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. Fired up the old rig and it worked as usual on SU 2017. Yes, I know it's an oldie. Just a very useful plugin sometimes.

Thanks Dave. I just installed that other plugin and it's so-so.

It's fine. Just found that Arc Circles + will create an ellipse much the same like the old plugin.
