-
I use sketchup for my wood working hoby. As such I am looking for the absolute min config that will run 2017 make. I have been happy with the performance with graphics acceleration turned off in ver 8 thru 2016. However I am having disc errors so computer is no longer reliable. Any one have sucess runing on the built in graphics?

Keith, look for a laptop with nVidia Geforce graphics if you can get it. SketchUp 2017 does not give you an option to turn off Hardware Acceleration to dump graphics processing to the CPU. This means the graphics card is very important. It seems many users have been having difficulty with Intel and AMD Radeon drivers that aren't up to the task. I expect there are other users who manage to get them to work but of the many users who are reporting issues related to graphics, I almost never see anyone with a Geforce card complaining.
Also, when you install SketchUp, you must right click on the installer and choose Run as administrator. If you don't, SketchUp will not be installed correctly.

swapping the disk maybe replacing by a much nimbler SSD isn't a big thing... but why not simply stick with SU Make 2016?
