I'm also not religious but find the architecture of churches very interesting and enlightening... The older the better.

Just too much fun!!!
Dave,
Some of you are getting ahead the rest of us but I have to agree it is "fun" to see the building rise up. Like the great church builders of the middle ages found a good result takes time.I have upload extensive photos of the South Elevation Gr Floor level which is my primary focus.
This is the elevation that will be the next phase of the stone restoration work.
Currently the church is raising funds for this stage and I am hoping to use the
SketchUp model to assist in this fund raising endeavor.(note the estimate of $1500 - $2500 approx (Aust) per sq. metre for straight walling - expensive due to the detail of the work plus factors as scaffolding, hoists etc.)
FOLDER: St. Mary pics - Elevation South Gr Fl
These will be followed with the Top level photos of the windows.I should clarify that I am receiving no commercial remuneration from this exercise.
I am not a Christian and have no direct relation with the church. My office is
5 minutes walking distance away. For the past 20 years I have "used" their church
as my private meditation hall. I pick the right times when it is almost empty and hence perfect for contemplation and I know of no other building as calm and refreshing. They have an "enormous task" ahead of them so I thought I would give a little back.
If the SketchUp model can assist their efforts I will be satisfied.
I appreciate the assistance being offered by the SkethUcation community and I am interested to see where this "journey" will lead. I should also confess that I am a Canadian, not an Aussie.Cheers,
Ray -

RayTo all,
Dropbox is now available. There are extensive pictures internal and external:
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/cqer0p46144ksi2/FrFViA_-z6The church had full dwg drawings including sections undertaken in the past using
photogrammetrics. As soon as the full set of drawings have been received they will be updated
to the DropBox.Note the dwg elevation drawings are accurate and have precedence over the
drawn plan. The plan was prepared independently of the photogrammetric process by the architects.photogrammetrics by:

St. Mary update 20 June 2015
The external model of St. Mary Star of the Sea has been completed
by the dedication of David Asher of Windsor Ontario, Canada.A SketchFab "entry Section" can be viewed at:
https://sketchfab.com/models/edd4a8b4606345fda672013f9cad50b5
The materials and white lines are not what we want but at present I am
not sure of how to improve of the original SketchUp modelWe are currently working on preparing "audio clips" that can be integrated into
the St. Mary 3d Virtual Model shown in SketchFab. This has been aided by the
generous donation of a Nagra-Pico by Nagra.http://www.nagraaudio.com/nagra-pico/
Our marketing stragegy for generating donations for the Restoration works at St. Mary Star of the Sea are:
a. Complete a good 3d model on SketchFab that will lend itself to VR (virtual reality) cardboard viewers. b. Have a liminted number of "audio clips" (eg. Entry doors, Stained glass on Entry Elevation, and North Elevation - the renovated elevations that have street views.) c. Have some test "coffee chats" at Josies on Wednesday (good backroom) or in in the Crypt under St. Mary. These sessions would demonstrate the use SketchUp on a laptop and SketchFab VR on an i-phone. d. Once the "bugs" have been ironed out and delivery is "smooth" we hope to get local newspaper and radio spots to discuss the project.
Thank you everyone to date for your comments and suggestions.
