EEVEE is a gamechanger

All of that rendered in the viewport in realtime! Always thought Modo was ahead of the curve but this is gonna be incredible.
Been testing the nightly builds and this plus PBR materials is nothing short of stunning.
Getting harder and harder to ignore Blender these days.

Mr. Pilou knows before Blender knows!
-
Looks good but the "game changing" will only happen if someone makes Blender behave like other 3D software. Imho.

The Blender 3.0 project is about UI. Everyone is aware it looks like a pig and has too many button, sliders and panels.
At least with Blender I know what is coming down the road. SketchUp? All I know is the price goes up.
-
Very difficult to change the ergonomy of such thing when that was not thought from the start!
Quasi impossible! Herculean task!

Time for a 'Blendercation' forum yet?

Maybe a sub-forum sketchUcation about SU / Blender workflow and interoperability.

A little miracle! Could have been dramatic!
-
Rich. You know blender and sketchup.
Is there something in blender that behaves like a SU section?
Is there some development in blender that will lead to something like SU Layout?
For me sketchup is still about ortho on and pushpull and very decent architectural workflow
If I wasn't an architect I would be using blender for ages. It simply does everything you need in modeling and grows exponentially each year.
The UI excuse is getting lame.

Already in Blender is the ArchiMesh Addon that you can enable for wall, window, stair creation...
There's a PushPull Addon...
..and a snapping line Addon...
https://github.com/Mano-Wii/Addon-Snap-Utilities-Line
Section cuts can be done with nodes.
Nothing to do LayOut stuff really but Freestyle can be used for Linework
This site focuses on Blender for Architecture...
-
Nice set. Will take a look when I feel ready.
Maybe Layout can be sketchup's via import. Maybe I can figure something out. Maybe I'll just dig something up, ro deviate me even further from arch thinking.
-
Kitchen design is not my thing. Sketchup is still the least limited arch design solution I know about. Would love to see something like this for blender:
-
If you download from GitHub seems there are more accessories than described inside PDF above! (Green button Up corner page)
Allways a little mess to use even with this "simplified version"!
My old neurons are burned at each time!
-
-
Not so bad indeed!
-
-
From the site https://www.microvellum.com/solutions/fluid-designer/
seems there is always a free version very sufficient for make some kitchens!
All is detailed by PDF files! (No fruits, no chairs, no accessories in fact not excatly see next post)
The big advantage is that you have the Blender UI some hidden! -
So... A modeler that could take over UE4 for architecture. It's really starting to make sense focusing on blender or at least, following it up close.
