Home with solar tube.

Initial renders but working on light levels so a long way from being done.

-
very nice start. guess "solar tube" is a fancy term for a skylight ?

-
Mike is that actually modeled with a solar tube? and that is exterior lighting by way of the tube? or did you use a spotlight to approximate the lighting from the tube?
-
Solar tube is a special sort of skylight. I would not think the reflected light would be so defined at the floor level. Of course they don't make them that large. I tend to recommend that the larger ones be recessed in a short shaft to be more like a skyight. Using the gold reflector or a filter is also nice sometimes, as the light tends to be blue.

Less a skylight and more a light catcher, for want of a better term at the end of a long week.
My method involved stripping a Twilight ceiling light or twenty and placing the components in the glass globe at the bottom of the tube, an estimate rather than a replication.
Thanks for the kind comments.

Some improved mats and a generally improved view.

good progress

Thanks, I was wondering why the previous (not posted) render took so long but it was set as an exterior render which I completely missed. Another Doh! moment.

Excellent render.

Thanks Bryan, there are some things I am still not happy about, like the APC which has changed a few times too. Someday I will settle on an iteration.
