Question about Sun light for interior
-
Hi,
Newbie here, and experimenting with natural light and sun light for an interior room. However I can't seem to get the desired look. I want to natural light to bounce of the floor from the doors like this example here:
However my render looks flat. I have made all sun colours in the vray editor white, added a rectangle light and made some changed to the floor in materials. Any help will my much appreciated.

A couple of things spring to mind between the two. The first being, the materials (wall and floor) in the photograph have a lot more reflectivity to them than that of your rendering. Secondly its hard to compare apples to apples because the view angle/location is different which will affect perceived reflections and shadows. And lastly take a look at Physical camera settings. In a typical interior photograph, if the interior is balance the exterior, being brighter, gets a little blown out (as visible in the photograph above).

Thanks for the reply.
The sun light is facing directly towards the doors so some light should enter. I played around with the Physical camera settings and changed the shutter speed down to 100. I seem to be getting black reflections instead of white sun light reflections not matter what I do.
Example: (outlined in white box)

Not using V-ray, but the light coming through in the photo is sky and reflected light from outside, not direct sunlight. Can you turn up the environment lighting (sky or image light)?
Your second image looks like it is totally burning out the outside, and the wall look realistice bu the floor and the counter top reflect darkness outside.

Yeah, I changed in environment settings for sun, all white.

This is what I am trying to fix and reflect white sun light on the floor and counter top, but nothing seems to be working.

Hi, what are your settings for the background? Is it from the vray sun or do you use a domelight for the background? If you use a domelight make sure in the options to check the reflection on.
Best,
