Follow Me Tool
-
When using the Follow-Me tool on a path that is not confined to a plane, the section rotates about the path axis. For example, lines that were horizontal on the original section become non-horizontal on other path segments. It becomes really obvious when trying to extrude a triangular section along a spiral. Does anyone know, how this rotation is determined?

This is a known feature of Follow Me. There are several plugins that can yield other, probably more expected behaviors. Follow and Keep and Upright Extruder are a couple.

As Dave says, this is a known feature.
The sectional rotation that you see is determined by the rotation of subsequent planes determined by pairs of path segments as you go along the path. Hence no rotation when all path segments are in the same plane.
