Landscape plugin?
-
Hi everyone,
I work for an architect, and often find myself having to create landscape from surveys that only have randomly distributed spot heights in 2D. Now I usually either import as a dwg, draw vertical lines upwards from the spot heights, then triangulate the points myself - or spend ages guestimating contours (depending the size of the area I need to landscape). I have also tried the sandbox create landscape from scratch with limited success.
I was wondering if anyone knew of a plugin that could effectively 'drape' a landscape over a series of vertical lines drawn up from the 2D dwg import to create a smooth landscape?
Many thanks

If you have the points you can use TopoShaper to generate the terrain

Thanks - that definitely looks like it's worth a go

If you've created the vertical lines, just select them and use Sandbox from Contours and it will create a smooth face using those points.
Mind you Toposhaper is much more powerful. -
Two parts video from winning with sketchup on YouTube, regarding box and rich answer that I just watched today.
