TurboCAD Pro 20 import to SketchUp doesn't work?

Hi,
I have tried importing a TurboCAD Pro file into SkethUp and it wont work. I have converted it to both .dwg and .dxf and it will not import.It was my understanding that SketchUp imported dwg and dxf files but so does it only work with AutoCad?

Very likely there's something wrong with the DXF and DWG exports or there's a version mismatch. When you created those files from TurboCAD, what version did you select? What version did you select when importing into SketchUp?
Perhaps you could share the CAD file so someone could look at it? If you don't want to share it publicly, send it to me in a private message.

Thank you for response - got sidetracked with work.
The program I use is TurboCAD Pro version 20. TurboCAD saves files as twc but you can within the program convert to dwg or dxf format (and many others) so you can share files etc.
The latest version for TurboCAD is version 21 so mine is not that out of date.
But when I "save as" and choose a format - dwg, it does not supply a version choice for that.
I tried attaching the TurboCAD file received the message "extension tcw not allowed". Also tried to attach the sketchup file - which sort of imported this time but not well - received the message "the file is too big, maximum allowed is 5 MiB.
But interesting this time when I tried that it did somewhat import - though minus the walls, so not really useful.
I don't know if emailing diretly to you would work better, but not sure how to do that.

Can you upload the DXF or DWG export from TurboCAD? That's likely to be the best option. If you don't want to post it publicly you can share it in a PM or I can send you a PM with my e-mail address.

I think I have attached the dwg file converted from twc.
Feeling very computer illiterate - not sure how to do a message to PM so will just send - thnk you for offer though.
Will also check wetransfer to see if it makes a difference - though that is meant to be one of the selling features with TurboCAD is that it converts to many formats!

This worked. I've imported it into SketchUp 2016 and it has created a couple of scenes but then caused SketchUp not to respond. It may be there's a great deal of stuff for it to process. I'll let it run for a little while.
You could edit the file in TurboCAD to remove entities that will be ignored by SketchUp such as text and dimensions.
As for private messaging, there's a button below my name on the left of this post that you can click for that.
Edit to add: It did finally display the geometry. I'll send the SKP file to you.

Hi Deborah. I use TurboCad Pro 2015 and it helps if you move everything to layer 0 in TC before saving as DWG for SketchUp import. I tried it on your file and it works better than if you don't. I noticed it has not imported walls but not sure what else. When SketchUp opens the file it show a statistical report on items not imported before you can open it, if this is any help. I've attached some screenshots of my attempts to import from TC to SU. One with all layers as is, and one where I moved most to Layer 0. Some layers caused havoc when I tried to move them (Appliances) and crashed TC so not sure what is going on there. I suspect importing the walls might have something to do with x-refs but can't be sure. If you go onto TC forum (http://forums.turbocad.com/ ) you will find heaps of info on exporting files, bit too much for my liking. Hope this was of some help. Let me know if you have success. It would be nice to be able to share drawings between apps but like all things these days, it ain't simple. Good luck.
