Hello, I'm trying to do a picture background in Sketchup by making a big cylinder around my model and applying a picture onto it. The only thing that's bugging me is that my model is casting shadows onto this background! Disabling 'receive shadows' and 'cast shadows' under entity info does nothing, and V-Ray only has the option to disable 'cast shadows'.

The other option is to create a Double Sided material. The inside face would be the image of the background and the exterior would be 100% transparent. It sounds odd but it works.

The only thing I can think of is make the material less than 70% transparent.....

              purpose/expression/purpose/....

Make it an emissive material would be the best way in VRay. I always put these items in post though.
