I have read a bunch of forums and watched a bunch of YouTube videos on it, but I still don't think there is a clean way to send a SketchUp file to Unreal. Please correct me if I am wrong. I can get my SketchUp model into Unreal Engine, with textures, even with the 2 UV channels, but when I run a Build, something still seems like it is off. The lighting seems really dark and some of the faces of my model are black.

I tried the Blender method, but that did not seem to work so I tried FBXing the model through Ultimate UnWrap Pro, which was the most successful, but I am wondering what I might be missing. Ideally I would love to export the FBX right from SU with textures, but I am not having any success.

      Has anyone succeeded at this?

Not quite, but I've recently found several things about sketchup UV's.

It's easier to correctly UV map your model if your materials have 1 Model Unit per 1 Model Unit. If you correctly map them on model like that, the chances it will export correctly are greater...

The picture I posted here is a screenshot from Unreal http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=323%26amp;t=57270%26amp;start=30#p585955
Granted, some of the lightmap UVs were applied in Blender but it sounds something is wrong with your settings.

Can you post a screenshot from Unreal displaying your problem?
And maybe a screenshot of the 'world settings' - 'lightmass' section?
And a screenshot if you right-click on an object and choose 'edit'?

if a Blender model exports fine to Unreal, you can use Blender as a go-between if you use the BlendUp SU->Blender exporter, look at CGCOOKIEMARKET for it, currently under beta and thus $35, once it goes gold it will be marketed for possibly double that.

            workflow will then be:
SketchUp (export using BlendUp) -> Blender -> Unreal.

If you're using Unreal for archviz, please see their T&C's, I believe they distanced themselves from Unreal being used for archviz.

You remember where you read that? I would be very surprised if they did. They even have an archviz section on their forum and nothing is mentioned over there.

oops, my bad, was confusing it with CryEngine (Crytek)

you can also try playuptools, it looks like they're currently focusing on Unity, Valve, CryEngine compaitibility, but I'm almost sure they previously also exported to Unreal.

My guess is Valerostudio's problem is more related to some Unreal settings. For instance: imported lightmap uv's must be entered at two location or it defaults to low settings. That could explain the dark faces. Or its the auto-exposure setting... or the lights...

I saw that previously, very cool tool to have if you're doing archviz on unreal engine...
