I have downloaded SU16 At first I got the lady But now it opens straight away in plan view with no horizon. How can I find the lady?

It sounds like you've chosen a different template. Do you get the splash screen when you first open SketchUp? If so, choose a template with the person component showing. Otherwise, go to the Help menu and select Welcome... Pick the template of your choice and hit Start using SketchUp.
