Those are guidelines and guidepoints you neglected to delete in the SketchUp model. In SketchUp, go to the Edit menu and select Delete Guides. Then you should be able to update the viewports in the LO file. You really ought to delete guides once they've served their purpose. Otherwise the model space gets very cluttered as in your example.

I also just hide them in SU (just uncheck them in the View menu) and I also have my style set so they are not included in what I send to LO and that works fine. That way if I have to make revisions to the SKP I do not have to add them back.

Hiding anything should be a temporary thing.

I would normally agree but the way our workflow goes, I wind up having to go back to them to move equipment around and some other tasks. Believe me, in our work flow, I would be in trouble if I deleted them (not normal I know). 😠

My main point was that they can be in the SU file without them showing up in LO.

You could also put them on a layer or on layers which would help manage clutter and make it easier to control what is visible and what isn't

Interesting, I use layers a lot but did not think of putting the guidelines on a layer. Will have to give that a try but the way I have my workflow set up it all works fine as is.

Guess that is why I keep my profile reading Beginner even though I have been drawing for a couple of years now. I seem to learn something new everyday and with my lack of an engineering background, this field certainly gives one the opportunity to learn new things frequently.

The nice thing about using layers is that you can put guides you'd reuse on a layer and easily hide it while you delete the unneeded ones. And you don't need extra styles set up to turn them off. But in the end, you do what seems to work for you.

Depending on what you're drawing you can set the linetype to "Vector", the guide lines will not show then. Hope that helps, cheers!!
