VRAY causing Sketchup 2015 to bug splat

Hi guys - been struggling with an issue for days now with no luck.
Just upgraded to Sketchup pro 2015 from 2014 and as soon as i install vray (the latest demo version at this stage) it causes a bug splat any time i try to open or save a sketchup file. Even trying to save a blank file it will error.
If i double click on a skp file it will open, but i am not able to save it.
If i uninstall vray it works fine. if i disable the vray extension it will still bug splat.
This is on windows 7 64bit.
I have tried everything can think of; uninstalled and reinstalled countless times, search both the hard disk and registry for any references to vray or sketchup and removed them, still no good.
Is there any way to see in the bug splat dump files exactly what the issue is? They seem somehow encoded, or certainly not readable to me.
Open to any ideas as i am dead in the water right now!
