Hiding text leader also hides text
-
My installation of Sketchup Make 2015 has developed a problem. When I place a text in the project with a leader to an object in that project and then modify the text to hide the leader, the text also hides! I have un-installed Sketchup, deleted all files and folders associated with Sketchup and have also deleted registry entries. Re-installed Sketchup and still does the same. I am using Windows 7 Pro patched to the latest. Can some help me out?

I don't see any problem with it. Are you seeing different behavior than in a previous version? Or are you saying the behavior has changed since you first installed SU2015?
Please update your profile. It shows you are using SU8.

I don't see that problem. How do you hide the leader? you didn't say.
In 'Entity Info' don't check the 'Hidden' check box beneath 'Leader'.
On the right of 'Leader' you see three options: View based / Pushpin / Hidden. It's this one you need to select. Does this work for you. -
FWIW, I just checked SU8 and see the exact same behavior as in SU2015. no change. Ticking the box for Hidden hides the whole thing. Selecting Hidden in the dropdown hides the leader only. Are you seeing a different behavior?

Thank you for your quick replies. It looks like the issue is tied to the particular machine I am using. The method I use to try and hide the leader is to right click the text and then select entity properties. From that dialog box I then change the leader from pushpin to hidden. When I select that the entire text object disappears. It also does not look hidden as I have tried using Edit->Unhide->All and also View->hidden geometry.
Another interesting point is that I am using an add-in call Comp2Scene/Layer. This add-in is able to create a text object with an invisible leader! I also noticed that if I create a leadered text object and then delete the object I can hide the leader without affecting the text part.
