Messy Hatch in Layout
-
I have been trying to draft some interior elevation for a residential flat. When I was trying to apply a pattern to an area, it appears fine. But when it is linked to Layout, the pattern become messy. Does anyone know why? I have been trying to use different method to fix this but no luck...

Is it possible you have two surfaces in that same plane--or a surface right behind it? What rendering setting is used in LO? Interesting that in general it looks worse in LO.

it's hard to tell exactly from your image but I think Peter is on the right track with multiple faces Z-fighting.

I tried to delete this surface and form a new one but even with this I still fail. i found some other similar problem in the same file too. I will try other method to aolve this. Thanks.

Could you share the LayOut file?

I received your PM with the LO file. This could be good for others coming along so I'm replying here.
Apparently you made changes before sending it because not only was the wood grain hatch not displayed, there was no face to apply it to in the model.
I found in the SketchUp file that all those 2D views are over 42.5 kilometers away from the origin. That distance can cause display problems. You should keep the drawing close to the origin.
I applied the wood grain hatching from the In Model materials library again and I saw it looks like this:
I moved the drawing to near the origin and the material looks like this:
And in LayOut after updating the reference and rendering in Hybrid:
I'm curious, how did the model get positioned more than 26 miles from the origin to begin with? Also, why is your SketchUp model in V8 and the LO file is version 2014?

Oh ya, my content is quite far from the origin. I did not purposely do it but just randomly develop this drawings from some old drawing. Thanks for giving me the advice.
I have the 2014 package with me, but when I model in Sketchup I prefer using Sketchup 8 as it is more handy and I have less plugin with it, which can make my computer faster.
Thank you very much!
