Does any body know a way to fill (replace) your volume with separate defined 3d units.
I am trying to construct a breakwater, so once I have the outline of the shape I would like to
replace this with separate rocks/blocks as attached.

So in effect its a "3d Hatching"

Firstly you need to get some 3d rock components.

Place a selection of them individually onto the breakwater.

      OR
Place a group of a selection of them vertically above the breakwater.
      Select all.
Use SmartDrop [from the SCF PluginStore] to drop them onto the breakwater, adjust their placements as desired.

      OR
Get CompoSpray [from the SCF PluginStore], and 'spray' a selection of them onto the breakwater, adjust their placements as desired.

      There are several ways...

        Thanks Tig
These all work but take a long time (especially because I have a massive structure) I was hoping for a simple click and play plugin that fills an object with pre-defined shape (s), maybe after setting some parameters on spacing/cutoff. I have seen a plugin that only works with roofing tiles.

I may be misunderstanding what you want to do.
Have you created a "path" and you want to place your breakwater wall sections along the path?

If so you could look at

You'll find them useful even if it's not what you are wanting to do.

If you are wanting a jumble of your shapes you could look at sketchy physics, but I suspect it would be a lot of setup just to drop them all in place.
