edit a vray planeHuh? Not sure what you mean. What difficulty are you having editing, I assume, a vray rectangular light. Perhaps you are trying to use the vray plane as a light? Can you clarify. To me the rectangular light would be the logical choice for generating cove lighting.

HI andyrobot,
thanks for the reply. Ok let me explain it better.
Suppose you have a normal rectangular/square room of 2400mm ht or 8'ht. Now you want
to drop down a circular ceiling of say 3m/ 12' dia to 2200mm ht. Then you
want to give a cove lighting to that circle. Ho do you do it?Usually when it is a rectangular or square dropdown, I use a double sided
vray plane light near the edges. But in this case, how do i make a light
which follows the curved profile? I hope I was able to explain.vj

It can be done with an emissive material, but you need a lot of samples to clean the render up. The only other way I could think of doing it is to have a series of light planes arranged around the oval.

Try bending the rectangular light using FredoScale. I hope that works. I am trying that too.!

doesn't work that way unfortunately. The rectangle is just a placeholder for vray, messing with the geometry won't change the light to be non-planar.

you're looking for a feature we haven't added yet.
