Just got a new laptop, win 8.1, installed SU and I have a few funky screen issues. I did search the forum but could not come up with any answers. The issue I'm having is the status bar and all tools show up super small, the tools are hard to use that small, and the measurements in the status bar are unreadable unless you use binoculars. Has anybody come across this and is there a solution to this?
See screenshot. Laptop is an Asus UX301 with Intel Iris 5100, 2560x1440 resolution.

Try changing the set up for Windows by going to Personalization > Display > Medium resolution (125%).

Makes everything a little larger but does not seem to affect the quality of things on the screen.

I already have it cranked all the way to 200%. All windows look good, the SU main window looks good also, just the bottom status bar and tools.

I was considering a Surface Pro 3, but they seem to have the problem of tiny icons and I haven't found any discussion of that being solved. I would want to run SU on the Surface If I got it.

Isn't this sort of the same problem as the people using a retina Mac are facing? The fact the new super duper high resolutions don't translate well into Sketchup's way of handling text / things?!

Actually not having any issues on my Macbook Pro, I have a Surface 3 and it's small but not as bad as on the ASUS. Does anyone know if there will be a fix for this soon?

In Sketchup, have you tried going to Window-Preference-Workspace and Check the "use large tool buttons" box. Maybe it will help.....

It's not about the toolbar. More the actual tool once it's selected ie tape measure, pen etc etc and the status bar at the bottom. Values are barely readable.

Probably the best solution until Sketchup are able to update or give an alternative set of options; would be to plug in to a extra monitor. I find it quite convenient to run two and move my laptop between office and home
