Edges aren´t smooth when rendered
-
Even when rendering in default 2048x1536 and looking at the finished picture in 100%, the edges are not straight and smooth (in this specific project). I´ve heard about "anti aliasing". Is this something that can help with the problem? Where can I find that function (if it even exists) in Vray? And should it be turned on or off?
ps. I hope my questions are seen as perhaps benefical to other new users of Vray, and not as spamming the board. I´m a professional graphic news designer and these are questions I need in my work using the program.

Antialiasing is in v-ray option editor, under image sampler (antialiasing). Change the filter to Catmull Rom (this is the sharpest one).
I guess you have jagged edges mostly in bright areas. If so, you could also check the "Clamp output" and "Sub-pixel mapping" in Color mapping tab.PS: It's OK to ask allot of questions; that means you're really interested and motivated.
This is always a good sign, and trust me, the only way you should take, when dealing with a beast, such is V-ray.
Good luck! -
Worked like a charm! NICE! Thank you!

If you are in 2.0, try the loaded presets. These will typically yield great results. If you really want to learn all the parameters and what they mean, you could get this PDF book, still very relevant even though it is based on an older version of VR (for MAX) but the principles still apply for the most part.
Also, good free information here

OK, thank you. What is a preset? Where do I load that?
-
the presets are the drop down combo boxes at the top of the V-Ray Options editor. Just select a category from the first box, then a preset from the second box, and then click the green checkmark. Tada! Super easy scene setup for any occasion

Wow, cool!
If I have some rendering options already set, will the presets make those turn back to default or stay as they were set?
-
the presets will only effect settings that it needs to. It will not reset all settings back to defaults, or to whatever the preset settings are. Output resolution for example, will not be changed when using the exterior camera preset. Just make a backup or your options by saving them to a vropt file, or backup your whole scene. Then play around with the presets a little, and if you decide you would rather return to the settings you had, you can either load your backed up vropt, or you can load up your backup skp file.
