World Economy is 'set' for two or three years!

I'm referring to the announcements over the past few days that the 'West' with the backing of some Middle East absolute monarchical 'Kingdoms' will be stuck into a two or three year war against ISIL in Iraq and Syria and I'd imagine a couple more oil rich areas.
I am amazed at the general public disinterest in whats happening at the moment.
Many people find 'politics' boring and that it has no effect on their lives, so they believe it appropriate to not even form their own opinion only go along with what they are told by the elite controlled media.
Here are some quotations from famous thinkers that have offered good advise in relation to politics,
“One of the penalties of refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors.”
― Plato“Just because you do not take an interest in politics doesn't mean politics won't take an interest in you. ”
― Pericles“It is not enough to win a war; it is more important to organize the peace.”
― Aristotle“In politics, stupidity is not a handicap.” (So true)
― NapoleonIt looks like this time the so called 'elite' have managed to engineer yet another war to tighten their control of world finances which has been slipping over a number of years.
To my surprise, today the British Parliament has just voted to jump into the mess also. I was hoping that British common sense might prevail again as it did last year but this time its an 'in we go' vote.
I think its worth reading what two US Presidents said back in the 60s when they saw the 'writing on the wall'.
IKE (Dwight D. Eisenhower) said in his farewell speech in 1961.
*"We face a hostile ideology global in scope, atheistic in character, ruthless in purpose and insidious in method ..." and warned about what he saw as unjustified government spending proposals and continued with a warning that "we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military–industrial complex."
He elaborated, "we recognize the imperative need for this development ... the potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist ... Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together.*"
and
JFK (John F. Kennedy) made quite a shocking speech in 1961 which is only becoming clearer in the past 14 years.
*"The very word "secrecy" is repugnant in a free and open society; and we are as a people inherently and historically opposed to secret societies, to secret oaths and secret proceedings. We decided long ago that the dangers of excessive and unwarranted concealment of pertinent facts far outweighed the dangers which are cited to justify it. Even today, there is little value in opposing the threat of a closed society by imitating its arbitrary restrictions. Even today, there is little value in insuring the survival of our nation if our traditions do not survive with it. And there is very grave danger that an announced need for increased security will be seized upon those anxious to expand its meaning to the very limits of official censorship and concealment. That I do not intend to permit to the extent that it is in my control. And no official of my Administration, whether his rank is high or low, civilian or military, should interpret my words here tonight as an excuse to censor the news, to stifle dissent, to cover up our mistakes or to withhold from the press and the public the facts they deserve to know."
"For we are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy that relies on covert means for expanding its sphere of influence--on infiltration instead of invasion, on subversion instead of elections, on intimidation instead of free choice, on guerrillas by night instead of armies by day. It is a system which has conscripted vast human and material resources into the building of a tightly knit, highly efficient machine that combines military, diplomatic, intelligence, economic, scientific and political operations.
Its preparations are concealed, not published. Its mistakes are buried not headlined. Its dissenters are silenced, not praised. No expenditure is questioned, no rumor is printed, no secret is revealed."
"No President should fear public scrutiny of his program. For from that scrutiny comes understanding; and from that understanding comes support or opposition. And both are necessary. I am not asking your newspapers to support the Administration, but I am asking your help in the tremendous task of informing and alerting the American people. For I have complete confidence in the response and dedication of our citizens whenever they are fully informed.
I not only could not stifle controversy among your readers-- I welcome it. This Administration intends to be candid about its errors; for as a wise man once said: "An error does not become a mistake until you refuse to correct it." We intend to accept full responsibility for our errors; and we expect you to point them out when we miss them.
Without debate, without criticism, no Administration and no country can succeed-- and no republic can survive. That is why the Athenian lawmaker Solon decreed it a crime for any citizen to shrink from controversy. And that is why our press was protected by the First (emphasized) Amendment-- the only business in America specifically protected by the Constitution-- not primarily to amuse and entertain, not to emphasize the trivial and sentimental, not to simply "give the public what it wants"--but to inform, to arouse, to reflect, to state our dangers and our opportunities, to indicate our crises and our choices, to lead, mold educate and sometimes even anger public opinion.
This means greater coverage and analysis of international news-- for it is no longer far away and foreign but close at hand and local. It means greater attention to improved understanding of the news as well as improved transmission. And it means, finally, that government at all levels, must meet its obligation to provide you with the fullest possible information outside the narrowest limits of national security...
"And so it is to the printing press--to the recorder of mans deeds, the keeper of his conscience, the courier of his news-- that we look for strength and assistance, confident that with your help man will be what he was born to be: free and independent."*
This IMO, 'proxy' war, could escalate very quickly and bring in other super powers. If that happens we all could be in big trouble.

Politicians are always going to meddle, they have been doing so for thousands of years if you accept that religious leaders are also politicians. Modern times have seen them breaking down and remaking nations, all the time helping their friends with money to make more money. We should be able to stop this by putting up for elections, people more inclined to do the real job at hand which is improving the lot of each and every nation rather than a few money people but we will not. Sorry but people are just too apathetic to even try. The newest party in the UK, "ukip" are no different, they just have a different group of money makers as their influence.

“When bad men combine, the good must associate; else they will fall one by one, an unpitied sacrifice in a contemptible struggle.”
― Edmund Burke, Thoughts on the Cause of the Present Discontents: Volume 1 Paperback: 001“All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.”
― Edmund Burke“Nothing turns out to be so oppressive and unjust as a feeble government.”
― Edmund Burke, Reflections on the Revolution in France“The use of force alone is but temporary. It may subdue for a moment; but it does not remove the necessity of subduing again; and a nation is not governed, which is perpetually to be conquered.”
― Edmund Burke
Or to look at another way...
You get the government you deserve, and by extension you get the world you deserve...
