      Axes location
In perspective mode I change the axes location to align with another side of the building.
When going into parallel mode (to view plan / aerial view) the axes was shown located back in the original location. Going back to persp mode it changed back?? why does this happen??

Although you might move the red, green, and blue lines, the real origin and axes of the model space are fixed as is the ground plane which is normally defined by the location of the red and green lines. The standard views are also fixed. By default, solar north runs away from the origin along the green axis. Changing the orientation/position of the axes in Perspective mode does not change which way north is or the direction the camera is looking for those standard views.

Except I don't get that. I tested it by moving the origin and the angle of the axes. If I go to standard top view and parallel projection the axis remains skewed as I placed it. As Dave notes the view is aligned to the original axis.

Could you be changing the view using a scene? The axes location could be saved with the scene.

Good point. And I neglected to address the axes appearing to move. Since they can be a scene attribute, you may have hit on the situation.

I'm sure a couple of screen shots would clear any confusion.

It could be that the axis tool is resetting itself back to the default every time the auto-save kicks in (which might make it seem like the axis changing locations from toggling the perspective).
