Push/pull

Hi all,
I was wondering if there is a way to make your new push/pull volume into a separate component/group?
Push/pull+ctrl is a good start but then I need to select all the new faces separately which sometimes can be quite difficult to reach.
Is there a way the new made volume automatically becomes a separate component?

You can do that with Fredo's joint push pull: select a face-->choose a push pull tool-->press TAB key and choose "YES" under "generate as a group" menu.
