Just like the Subject asks, is there a way to change the number of default sides in an arc and a circle so I don't have to keep entering in a value. (The default is 24)

I could not find a direct user preference way to permanently change the default. However, googling "sketchup default segment count" turned up this discussion:

Perhaps there is a ruby script out there somewhere that could run at startup, does a short routine on circles and or arcs with some desired segment number already set?

I take the slow, deliberate approach in my aimless wandering.

Look at http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=352084#p352084 which has something that works on PCs before v2014...
But it'd need recasting for v2014...
