Sky Tower (Oblivion Movie) - WIP

Did a quick render in ArtLantis 4 added some female touch

This is my first time here.....stumbled across this site searching for a 3D model of the Oblivion Skytower. I have to say, you're modelling is outstanding! I took the liberty of downloading the model, exporting it as OBJ, and importing it to Keyshot to produce these 2 renders. With your permission, I would like to use it in future renders, incorporating some human characters into the scenes, and release them publicly. I will, of course, give you full credit for the Skytower model, and, if you wish, include a link to where people can find your work. Not looking to make a profit here, just produce some cool renders for sites such as Renderocity, Deviant Art, and Koinup. On a side note, the Bubble Ship came from Daz Studio, a model they are currently selling there. Might I suggest, if you are planning on continuing to enhance this model, perhaps you should contact Daz, to see if they would be willing to collaborate with you to sell this model.......hope you like the renders!

stevieC. As long as you don't use it commercially or abusive I have no problem if you use it. When you credit me please make sure you do a better job in converting. The first render shows a lot of triangles and faces that don't belong to the model (roof, pool, tower etc.). Have fun!

I apologia for that castromann.....just did a quick export to test it in Keyshot, will do a better job on the next renders.....and thank you!

I hope this render does your model better justice....

So, This may be a little late and all but i've created my own version of the bubble copter and an accurate version of it for release at a later..
but i'm curious from the dropbox link, you we're allowing downloads at some point and i'm wondering is there another place i can obtain it? or should i just the full nine yards and create my own version because i've already created a mockup model just in case.

feel free to download. here's the new link (the old one is obsolete): https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/51151448/sketchucation/Skytower.skp
I haven't had any time to work on it any further, others might have more advanced versions in the meantime.

I'd say the amount of detail you've put into it is rather amazing and its a shame the bottom area isn't completed but still just the same its amazing i cannot wait until you've completed it.
i'll always like the skybox its such a similar thing to sky living modules i used to build in second life commission wise.

Hi,
can someone please re-upload the model. Both the dropbox links are down.
Thanks a lot!!

after a timeout I took this model again and found some more time to render a few angles. see a photo from the original set and the rendered replica. rendered with thea presto in record time of 3 minutes (would have been already good enough after 1m probably). absolutely no postwork done apart from contrast and levels.

Really nice work Castromann!

It was very good to begin with. Now it looks fantastic!
-
ahhh that's great. love it.

Can you upload the model to the Gallery or to the SketchUp model library to download here or through SketchUp? The Dropbox links don't seem to stay around.
I'm thinking of using it as a base for a buildable elevated home. Top level as a home office (with a great distracting view, obviously), the 2 living levels (with pool and heliport for an ultralight 2-seater copter (yes, they do exist), and the lower level as a workshop/garage ( to store an Elio car/Smart car/Lit Motors car-bike, or an ELF electric-assist trike). Needs either a ramp or lift-assist entry, of course, I plan to design that once I have a model to start with...
Just following the old adage, "Good programmers copy, great programmers copy and revise it to make it better..."

BTW, when I said "buildable", I meant the house, not the spire foundation. Since the filmmakers built a full-scale set, the house itself is "buildable". If you throw enough money at it, anything is "buildable"... lol
I'm thinking of a hillside mounting, similar to the Stahl House/Case Study House #22 in the Hollywood Hills of Los Angeles.
Maybe not as awe-inspiring as the movie, but still an inspiration...
I just wanted a model to play with, and this is the best that I have come across.

I would also very much appreciate someone uploading the model again as the Dropbox links die rather quickly.
Again, thanks to Castromann for your fantastic work, the renderings and model look beautiful.

unfortunately not the last version - had some data loss recently. so expect some rough edges and bad texturing here and there. that's all I can offer. have fun!
