VRay 2.0 - SketchUp 2014
-
Hi all
Has anyone successfully installed VfSU 2.0 with SU2014?
I'm assuming the problem is location change of plugins folder, but was wondering if anyone had anything definitive to say before i start hacking?!
Cheers

there's an update to vfs 2.0 "coming soon" to enable 2014 installation. Best to wait for that.

Hi everyone
is there a way to install vray2.0 to Sketchup 2014?
I upgraded, so I'm in big problem now if I can't render -
a service release will be published on our website in the next couple of days to address 2014 support, as well as some other issues that were present in the 2.0 release.

Actually, they changed the version of Ruby that is used in SketchUp 2014, which should break compatibility for a lot of plugins.

will it be possible to release vray 3.0 core for sketchup2014?
WHY IS SKETCHUP COMMUNITY ALWAYS 2 STEPS BEHIND MAX etc. USERS?
/f.e. You put proxy in new vray for su, but still it
s better to do the vrmesh in max - it
s lighter this way....
OR...HOW MUCH ADESK IS PAYING YOU FOR THE DELAY`s WITH CURRENT VRAY RELEASES FOR SU? -
so, does it mean we cant use vray 1.6 in sketchup 2014?

short answer, no, probably not.

There are many features that SketchUp lacks, which make it nearly impossible to support certain features of V-Ray. Prime example of just how behind SketchUp is... they don't have any concept of what a light is... or even better... what a mesh/object is. I understand the frustration, but our goal is to match the V-Ray for Max release as much as possible. In the past year we have hired more developers, testers, and have made some decent strides towards a more stable and feature packed product.

Correct, but since there is no legitimate 1.6 version, and only expired beta/demo versions of 1.6 which give you watermarks, you will be able to continue getting watermarked renders with the 2.0 service release demo for SketchUp 2014, which will be available on our site in the next couple of days.

So..... a week later. Hows that service release going?
-
well if people would stop trying to hack our website, that would help... Not sure if you saw this notice at the top of the Chaos Group website, but it says in bright red:
"Notice: We may have been the target of an attempted website breach. To be safe, all website passwords have been reset. You can reset your password here."Look guys... I know you want this service release, but trying to hack our website isn't going to speed things along

That's double-plus-ungood.
Hope you're back on track soon!
