Try loading vismat rather than import

If it's an old vismat, you probably should just remake it. A lot has changed in the last couple of releases and old vismats might have issues.

Well, the chaosgroup.com website has lots of materials to download. You do need to be a registered user though (with a valid license of course. Or I believe you can still get access if you are doing a trial - not sure tho)

yeah, vray.com is not the official website what so ever. You'll notice, at the top of their website (and I believe on every page) there is a notice that says the following: "V-Ray is a trademark of Chaos Software Ltd. The official source of information on V-Ray is chaosgroup.com. This site is not affiliated with chaosgroup.com." If you go to the chaosgroup website, there are materials available for download there, which are official materials.

You can always learn how to create your own materials. I hardly ever load vismat files, especially from random websites. Most of those files were probably create in 1.05.30 or earlier!
