Just curious - which version of vray will be demonstrated? I'm assuming Max...
Also, Do you by any chance know what his username is in the ChaosGroup forum? -
Ben does not have a username in the Chaosgroup forums. He is using Vray 2.40.40
for 3Ds Max 2014Computer Specs:
Intel I7 - 2600K CPU @3.4GHzHe will also be using a render farm for distributed rendering for the sake of time. TOTAL Processors - 5, 20 cores, Mufti-threading - 40 Cores

Thanks for the additional info. I ask about the forum because there's been a lot of discussion about the sample rate pass and optimizing the sampler rates on there, and I'm curious if he was involved in any of those discussions.
-
Sorry to hijack this thread. There's been a really good discussion on optimizing on the VR for MAX forums. Check this out if you haven't yet.
-
Update from Ben who says he will be beta testing version 3.0. Furthermore, Ben Although also works at the ChaosGroup studio as an illustrator.
-
So will the webinar be using 2.40 or 3.0? Just trying to clarify the details. The more advanced version he's using, the less there will be applicable to vray for sketchup users. Not to rain on the parade, but there's a lot that can't be done in vfs compared to vray for Max.

Andy, I'm sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you. I was in Dallas for the judging of the AIP 29 competition.
Back to Vray!
Ben will be using version 2.4 for the presentation. Also, an update on is that the webinar is FREE! Open to all! Register today! Vray Webinar: Pass Techniques
