Print out walls of a project possible?
-
Hi all,
I have a rather detailed model of a house. I want to be able to recreate this house using matte board. I would like to be able to print out the walls separately onto paper, cut it out and paste it onto the matte board to be cut. So, is there a way to layout all the walls of a model and print them out? I'm using the free version of Sketchup.
Thank you.

You might look in he plug-ins thread; I think there is a plug-in that will do that.
If not, orthogonal projection views should work for you. Depending on your design's configuration, you might have to deconstruct it to get orthogonal views of all the walls.

Two plugins come to mind, unfold and flattery. I do not know how they would respond if you try to flatten a thick wall and if they would account for a case of where you need to make a miter cut etc., you'll have to try and see( matte board and wall thickness different anyway). You can use model to get angels and allowances for cuts however)) My guess it is 2d centric.

Create scenes for each wall elevation, use align view, parallel projection, section planes etc, or any other setup you want, then print the scenes.
