Populating a bookshelf
-
Hi everybody, my first post here (but I found many times a solution just by searching, thank you!)
I'm facing a quite boring job: I'm trying to render a library interior (a project back from university), my workflow is Archicad -> Sketchup+Vray.
In archicad I modeled most of the building, but I have empty shelves. I'm thinking of using Vray proxies for books/book groups, as there will be many of them.My question, however, is: is there a quick way to populate my library, starting from a range of book groups? I could place the first, then multiply it horizontally and vertically, but then the whole wall would look kind of dumb, with the same 20 books all over the shelves
Is there a plugin or something, or do I have to place them by hand?
Thank you very much.
Regards,

You can do a better search anyway...

There are at least a couple of threads with tis subject.
Here is one for example.

Whoops, I'm sorry, probably I was using the wrong keywords (I didn't think of "arrange")
Thank you, I'll check that right away

I couldn't get it to work properly, I can't control position of the books on the shelf and their orientation (this is probably because I have a model that doesn't follow standard axes orientation)
