Well, I don't know if it's an easier way, it's just another way to.
the videoUnfortunately, SU have problems with hidden geumetry so I used weld.rb to get a nice result.
And now I'm thinking in another way...

A bit different example but the problem to solve is similar in this tut I made for a slant ramp a while ago:

That's interesting, but I would agree it needs filling out as a tut. I don't think it is plainly clear what you are doing in 4 and 5, and the goal is not obvious to the casual geometer.
One thing about Earthmovers tut. is showing-off joint push-pull which some seem to think is superfluous. Seems to work magic here.
It might be useful to use "group / delete" for the benefit of newbies in such tutorials. Often video tuts do not and it is such a good thing to discover.

EDIT I sort of succeeded in the sloped inside arc of the demo (GAIEUS'). On the outside arc I have problems. Is this method dependent on the arcs in plan being full half circles tangent to the straight walls? If so I have an issue how SU draws the offset outside arc compared to CAD.

I know! I didn't even think about it until I watched it after I uploaded. Normally my screen is not like that. I have a 23" monitor, but I shrunk down the screen for the tutorial and it bunched up my icons. My apologies.

New to sketchup, have managed to locate and download both the line on surface plug in and the joint push plugin. Trying to make a sloped curved wall much like above. Every time I go to delete excess my interior wall disappears below the "cut" Help? Very helpful video though. I'm amazed I've gotten so far so quick.

Can you attach the model just before you do that? Remember that in removing excess you have to leave any edges that are "used" by the faces you wish to keep. It's easy at first to mistakenly remove too many edges (at least I had that problem sometimes).
One way to remove a face or smooth curved surface: DOUBLE CLICK on the face to select the face plus all bounding edges. GROUP. Then DELETE. That should leave edges that adjacent faces need.
