      I have an honest question. I'm running an old [possibly cracked] version of Sketchup 7 Pro that I was given.
      I'm considering purchasing the new Sketchup Pro.

      SU 7 Pro crashes a lot, which I chalk up to it no longer being supported, as well as it perhaps being compromised if it's cracked.
      Is the new version of SU Pro more stable? And by more stable can I go more than 2 days without it crashing on me?
      The cost to upgrade is not insignificant, particularly in today's economy.

      Any thoughts, suggestions?[mod=:1xm9iuwg]I have edited your post to be less 'open to misinterpretation'
      Regarding your possible use of 'illegal software' !

        😒 let's pretend you've never used SU before...

        to know if a software runs well on your system before purchase it, you've just to use it for a trial period and see if it crashes

          This is a bit silly, but have you thought that Pro and Free/Make are the same(except for a few exporters, solid tools, dynamic components,Layout and Style Builder) ? Either one you will use is the same(talking about crashing) .
          Most of the time Sketchup crashes because of the plugins . I would advice you to download Sketchup Make(2013) and Sketchucation plugin manager, then install all the plugins you want and run it as much as you want to test it, if you are satisfied and you need the extras of the Pro, go ahead and buy it .

          Take care !

            @Tar

            Please note that I have have edited your original post to avoid it being misinterpreted.

            The Free [which is now called Make and is for 'non-commercial' use] version of SketchUp is the same as Pro, but without some added features that you might not use anyway...
            You can run Pro for some hours as a 'trial', then revert to the Make version if you decide not to buy it.
            The v2013 is pretty stable and rarely crashes.
            As has been said some clashing Plugins can cause issues but these are well documented...

              and if used for non-commercial purposes only.

              An upgrade from a non-legal license of SUP7 to SUP13 is obviously not possible, i.e. a full new license of SUP13 needs to be bought in this case.
