I'm testing out Google Hangouts. ENDED
-
That is showing in the post now. Audio and Video
-
it was cool. except for the fact we just talked rubbish. but as a means of doing live modeling i found it pretty good.
i think if u watched on Yt you got a bum deal but if you joined the hangout u got complete viewing pleasure of kris' screen
pity u didn't join box.
-
I couldn't see how to join, but then again with the gibberish you two were going on with I didn't look hard.
-
Seems to work pretty well. Has a few things as Box mentioned it switches to the user currently speaking, but that will only be participants. And those are dictated by invitation to participate.
Another issues were that some dialog screens within sketchup send the broadcast to a default thumbnail until the dialog is finished. I think that is because the screen isn't being shared but only the program and some dialogs are seen as webpages.
Haven't found a way to see how many people are watching... Perhaps it's already available somehow or perhaps they'll add it later.
Lag didn't seem too bad and could be improved if I hadn't somehow had two broadcasts going at once. I think when I invited Google Plus Members to participate it started a separate private show.
All in all I see this as a great tool to educate with and spread some knowledge...
-
It certainly has potential.
-
The Embeded video above seems to answer our question as to if it will record the broadcast. That answer being yes...
-
And you can see now how annoying it is to have the picture keep changing.
-
Yes, that can be solved though... I think that's for the conversation side.
-
My volume, my voice sounds really low... Don't know if that's me or the program.
-
I'm going to start another one here in a minute... Testing it some more.
