Not difficult at all. You'll need to repaint it.

Your faces are all reversed and need to be corrected. I'm curious about how you drew the shape so that the faces weren't all attached to the roof.

I copied the roof over, deleted the extra edges, traced an edge to make a face on the bottom of the roof and used Push/Pull to put it down to match the height of yours. Then I corrected the face orientation.

thank you for your answer. I did not construct it on my own. The object for my last message is only one piece of this one:

Any idea how to do the same for that one without reconstructing it completely?

        Best regards

Well, I guess you could use ThomThom's Solid Inspector plugin to examine the component/group to find the problems. Determine what they are and fix them. Depending upon how many problems there are, it may just be easier to start from scratch. I often find that is the case with models from the 3D Warehouse.

Ooops, I had trouble with the upload.
I'm not used to this forum setup just yet.
This model is a little more complete.

                Hi experts,

this time I need to print this one:
                http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=cb0b1138ce7f263e90cdb0d1a06b1e4e

I need to make it solid first. After trying for several hours you see me begging for help... I am too stupid for the 3rd dimension. Or at least for sketchup πŸ˜‰

Solid Inspector complains about nearly everything and I am not able to fix these issues... Any help is appreciated!

                Best regards

I've started to make it solid, but as Dave suggested, it would be faster to create it from the beginning because of the many construction faults...

If you want to try it anyway, follow these steps:

                  • delete all materials
                  • explode all groups and components and nested ones
                  • delete inner faces
                  • flip backfaces
                  • close volume
                    -...

Are you still working on this? There are a lot of different parts here. I suppose you need to make it all one solid component? Just to offer at least some idea. You might take the repetitive components and work on them then work on the large parts making them solid. Then you can combine the solid components you've made. faces need to be added and the way much of it is made does not lead naturally to building a solid. And fair warning, you may work on it a long time and discover some sloppiness in the original will prevent you from ultimately making it all solid. Good luck. You might take the best parts and recreate the worst parts yourself from scratch, using the original model as a guide.

It's not that difficult. One baseball game and Bob's your uncle.
On the other hand, have fun painting.

Took me hours yesterday to only fix the small edges on the roof... I will try to improve my skills, promised πŸ˜‰

Friends of mine will get married on Friday in this building (the town hall of Aachen, Germany). I want to print and illuminate the building like I did with the cathedral, see above, as a present for them.

                            Again: Thanks!

                            Best regards
