There are many tutorials for modelling cars, most of the techniques should work for a boat too... e.g.

Curviloft! This did EXACTLY what I needed. This boat is be a racing "yacht" as described by our client. I have some more figuring out to do, but this is a great start. I'll be back with more questions as the boat progresses. Thank you all for the tip and and thank you to Fredo for the great plugin.

I was trying to figure that out, too. Pilou probably dragged it from the DelftShip site. 😉

DelftShip was Free!Ship in the beginning.

Well, a quick home page visit and scan of the text didn't show it. Maybe it's on another page that I missed. No big deal.

EDIT. and thanks for that tidbit. I didn't realize the relationship between the two programs.

                        You're welcome.

I started using Free!Ship back when it was pretty new. Well before SketchUp. Even then it was amazing for a free program and for the hydrostatic calculations it could handle. I have done a few boat designs in it and then imported the results into SketchUp.

                          Yes from here 😉

I had FreeShip since many years: it has a very good Manual (in French 😉 very well detailed! 👍

This crazzy free prog permit to make anything** and has some poweful functions (unfold) but was very not fiendly UI and ergonomy compared to SU! 😳

** in free is limited to hulls that are symmetrical with respect to the centerplane.
So for car or plane that is sufficient! 😉
