MAJOR MISTAKE IN SKETCHUP
-
also hi im new!
anyways I did a MAJOR Mistake. I forgot to save my file, BUT I uploaded it to warehouse then when going through my files I pressed the wrong button and perm. deleted. -
Sketchup automatically makes a backup file. check for it. it's will have the .skb file extension.
-
Yea.. Sketchup didn't make a autosave.
-
There still should be backup a ".skb" you may need to use a "open with" search for a skb.
-
So you've uploaded it to the Warehouse but deleted it from your computer? Or did you delete it from the Warehouse, too?
-
I never saved a file I uploaded it to the warehouse
but I accidently deleted IT FROM the warehouse. -
I believe if you closed SketchUp without saving the file, the backup file would have been removed and since you've deleted it from the warehouse, you are kind of out of luck. Call it a teaching moment and make sure in the future that you save your file on your computer even if you are going to upload it to 3DWH.
It'll be good practice to draw it again.
-
..... also I find that re-draw time is often down by 50%. Maybe its because the 'file' may be stored in one's brain
-
it was my first model to use my own doors and windows instead of sketchup. Ever since my original one Thundercarpet, I used nothing but sketchup doors and windows. And this was finally going to change it.
-
Hi Beginner, will this work on files accidentally deleted from the 3D Warehouse? In the OP's case that's what he did. He didn't delete it from his hard drive. He just never saved the file on his own computer.
-
Hi TC2 AKA THUNDERCARPET,
In the past, I have used various software to undelete files.
Recently tried FreeUndelete - it worked.Normally, I would go for one which doesn't need installation and 'Save/Recover' goes to a different drive.
Any installation or files saving on the same drive (after files are deleted) can reduce your chance to recover deleted files. When you delete...recover immediately and good luck.
Next time you will use Ctrl+S every step, every line you draw to be sure that you have something on your drive

Hi, I think you are the author of a Warehouse model called Googleport.
I'm interested in using an Sketchup animation of this model as a background for a video project I'm working on.
I've been searching some info about rigths to Warehouse models but couldn't find anything.
Is there any rights restrictions on the use of the model?
Best regards. -
