      Hello everybody,
I spent extended time to select colors from the Material-Library.
To my disappointment, this doesn't mean that I get what I choose πŸ˜•
Usually the Library colors look quit different in Model and what seems to be right in the Model is quiet different when printed 😲 .

I need some help here -
Is there a script/tool that let me print out a color guide?

It would be nice to have the option to print out the whole colorset of a selected Library or - as an alternative - a range of selected colors .
(There should be name or ID-number of each color right next to it)

      Thanks for your comments
      Uli

Shadow settings does change the color quite a bit and also computer monitors & printers can varies the output as well.

Creating a grid of faces with colors you want for doing print test can be time consuming but once you make it you can use it on other model with other shadow settings as well. Not sure a plugin will be necessarily required to do such task but not 100% sure.

That would be awesome if I could make a materials sheet...

It would be acceptable to me for the plugin just to create a bunch of swatches as sketchup faces in a standard sheet size grouping with each material on a face and name in text.

Then I could insert that one a sheet of the drawing. That would be sweet.

Thats the point - its extremely time consuming to produce a color/material guide.
But that`s what Computer seem to do best: to do the same thing over and over again

Unfortunately I am not able to program this, but in concept it could look like this:

            1. draw a group that contains a face in size or shape as you like,
            - divide the face for a Color area and a text-tag area
            - format the texttag

            2. select the desired Tool, let`s call it for now "color/material guide"

            3. next an editor ask for your input:
            - choose desired color/material library from dropdown list
            - choose desired color face and text area inside of the group
            - define desired array of the subsequent color guide groups

            4. the first color and texttag is applied automatically

            5. the script move-copys the group and changes the color and texttag inside of the
group to the next following color

            6. the script repeateds the operation until all colors/materials of the library are
            applied

What`s left to do is to print out the color guide - if you like, grab a scissor and cut out your new color cards etc.pp πŸ˜„
