Tapering a Round Corner
-
Don't know if there's a plugin for this, hope so.
What I would like to be able to do is to make a round corner on an object, but have the radius of that corner taper from one dimension, say 6 inches, to another dimension, say 3 inches. And also have that taper begin and end where I want it to.
Am I wanting too much?

I'd be inclined to use either TIG's Extrusion tools or Fredo's Curviloft to do it.
Curviloft did the attached.

Thanks Dave.
Bit of a problem -- when I try to download your SKP file I get this error msg

I have no interest in downloading the "new and improved" version of SU, at least not at this point in time. Why can't I open the file in the old version?

You've never been able to use an older version to open a SketchUp file created in a newer version. That's not all that uncommon with software.
Why the resistance to update?

Oh, doesn't sound like anything in the new version I need, and I keep seeing all the posts bitchin' about it from every direction. I'll update if it comes to the point where I need to for some reason.

People spent a lot of time bitching about SU8 when it was released, too.
I guess you should just be prepared to find more SKP files you won't be able to open.

It's probably using a sledgehammer to crack a nut but check out Kirill's LSS Toolbar, first image shows face to face via a path which should work:
